Memories of our Granddaughter Caitlin

This page is a memorial to our beautiful Granddaughter Caitlin that we lost in a horrific accident on May 3rd, 2003. Caitlin was 9 years old when we lost her.She is now one of Gods very special angels watching over us and someday we will all be together again. Caitlin was so full of life and would have gone far in her life. Caitlin greeted each day with a beautiful smile and she always had a hug and kiss for us. She lit up the whole room when she entered it and was loved by all.

We remember the day she was born and how proud and lucky we were to have another Granddaughter in our family. She was so gorgeous and tiny. As each day went by we watched her grow into the beautiful young lady she was at the time of her death. We have so many memories from her first cooing noise, first smile, first tooth, first words, first steps, first birthday, and every other first we got to experience with her. Caitlin brought so much love to our family and the day we lost her a part of us all was lost forever. Yes,we have memories that will live on forever but that doesn't fulfill the emptiness we feel without her in our lives.

Caitlin would come in our house and say PaPa ,I'm back and he would say jokingly to her Oh! no! not you again and she would say yup it's me.and giggle.Caitlin and her brother Billy spent a lot of time with us as they lived across the rode from us. I remember making cookies with them one time and their MaMa was worried about the mess they were making so I took a handful of flour and threw it on the floor and said big deal I'll clean it. It was so cute seeing  Billy (as he was older),  say Sissy I will help you roll out the dough but being the independant one she was she said no. I think we ate more frosting then we put on the cookies. Billy and Caitlin were very close and he would watch out for her in school and check on her when he passed her classroom. Oh, yes they fought like most siblings do but don't let anyone else pick on the other one or esle you had the other one to deal with. They loved each other dearly and Billy's life changed forever.

Caitlin was always willing to lend a helping hand if she could. Her classmates spoke about how she would help them in class if they were stuck on something and how she would stick up for a child that was being bullied by someone, and how she would tell funny jokes to make them laugh. Her teacher& classmates planted a tree in the school yard in her memory and each year on that date they do a memorial to her.

Caitlin loved soccer, basketball, wrestling ( yep,she wrestled for a year or so then her Dad said no more as his little girl was not going to wrestle anymore) she even won a few trophies, riding her bike, four wheeling, swimming, spending time with us at camp during the summer, etc. I could go on forever.

To keep Caitlin's memory alive we started a annual scholarship in her name each year to a graduate of her school through the year she would of graduated. We'll never see her gratuate but at least one of her classmates will recieve the scholarship. Caitlin's school mascot is an eagle so I wood burned an Eagle and dedicated it to the school in her memory. It is now on display in the hall of the Clifton-Fine Central School. It is on the wall where the trophy show cases are by the main offices.
